DMB: A New Beginning, a Return to the Past After losing a member and releasing its most expansive record to date, the Dave Matthews Band still has plenty of gas in the tank. Come find out where they get the high octane fuel...

Nice read. First show I saw was in 99 and they are still going strong. Can't wait to see them at Alpine. From the tapes I've heard so far this tour, I would agree with Joe, they sound on fire!

Fonz said it the best "It's a new beginning, but it's also a return to the past." Their Music just makes me feel good, jam on.

this band would be so great if Dave didn't sing....or croak....or yell....or whatever that thing he does is called
the Abercrombie & Fitch, pseudo-hippie, frat-boy crowd at his shows is pretty deplorable too

Florentinepogen - Its pretty impressive to use insults that have been regurgitated for years now. I saw a lot of people last year at Rothbury who certainly weren't the things you mentioned...
Who are you...some cool cat - wearing some vans or pumas with some bright colors....or maybe a fat stoner with a massive beard to match your sweaty fat sack...
I am just judging thats all...
Sorry for the sidetrack...great article and I cant wait for this tour...

The band sounds amazing and the Beacon show was stellar. Though I am not a fan of the giant crowds of teens with cell phones raised up hi, I cant miss out on some DMB when there close to home.

It's not cool to be commercially successful brooooooooooo....Therefore these guys suck. People like them too much. Why don't you guys go ask your messiah Trey what he thinks about Dave and the gang? I am sure he won't have a bad thing to say.

not a big dave fan, never was, never will be, got mad respect for his talent though. this new album is mediocre in my opinion, i love 'why i am' and a couple others but the rest is just meh. i hate when he sings in his high head voice, also the lyrics on this album are pretty bad. i think its 'spaceman' he sings about i think crack babies and other stuff then goes right into a chorus of 'but i love the way you move baby' what is that crap? however this album has some energy previously not found in their stuff mainly due to dave playing electric. however the best dave is still acoustic duo with reynolds. my 2 cents.

I've tried for years to like DMB but no amount of buds or beer can change the fact that he has the worst singing voice since Frankie Valli. And judging by the bunch of wankers at his Bonnaroo set w/Trey I think florentine is accurate in describing their fans. What a waste of talented musicians (aside from Dave).
