just got back what a great two days. the pic of the people is only one small section of alpine valley, multiply it by 4 and you'll be close to knowing how many peeps were there.

I remember my only phish show at alpine back in 2000... first set opened with PYITE and ended with Antelope. Deja Vu my friends, cause unless I am having difficulty reading, it looks like that just happened again.... only there was no lizards in the second set of 2000 :( wah wah 4 me cause I want to c lizards.... Maybe at the Gorge ;) What a summer, I get to see phish, cheese and the dead (and equally excited 4 each), not to mention too many other bands (rothbury). I cant wait to see Toots in the day followed by late night face melting electronic, because my musical universe is too big for one band or genre. Bring on the genre-bending mindf*#k cause living in montana somewhat deprives me from saturation of musical stimulation of epic proportion, exception being the LOVE YOUR MOTHER EARTH FESTIVAL!! what up zookeeperz!

All aspects of the concert vibe seemed to be there. This was my first show since '04. The setlist looked tight on paper. Still, there seems to be a cohesiveness lacking to the performance. The peaks are a little predictable. The togetherness is not quite mutual. Trey's playing is inconsistent at best. Just doesn't feel like he could really settle in.
A lot of these components seem like they should have been worked out by the time they made it to end this run of shows. If you're looking to have fun and rekindle some old memories, you'll be just fine. If you're looking to see the envelope of music being pushed night in and night out, you may be less satisfied.

Great show, but this was by far the most crowded I'v EVER seen Alpine. New rule for Alpine Valley, STAY AWAY FROM THE YELLOW LOT. we were in blue, and made it out rather quickly, people with us that got into the Yellow lot didn't get out till around 3am. Sunday was sold out as well, but didn't seem as crowded as sat did. I liked saturday's set list better, but they sounded better on sunday to me. Anyhow, can't wait to see them again at Toyota Park. Till then.........bring on ROTHBURY!!!!!!!!!!!

GREAT SHOW -PYITE OPENER! C'MON! fucking sick
a "greatest hits" setlist if there ever was one - runaway jim, stash, ya mar, gin, antelope, maze, ghost, lizards, YEM, NICU all sounded great and they were on even more than last night.
the only thing i've been mildly disappointed with so far is how underdeveloped some of the jams are. ya mar and gin were kinda short, and i really thought they were gonna go back into YEM after NICU. but like others have said it's not 1995 and they've still got a long way to go.
antelpe, stash and ghost were nice long jams; waves was a little weak
like i said, almost every song was tight and full of energy. this was a show not to be missed and i'm glad i was there.
