if transistor is 311's best album then i'll be a monkey's butt. don't get me wrong, transistor is fine it's it's own regard but music and grassroots is 311's meat and potatoes. then the blue album, then from chaos, then transistor, then evolver, then don't tread on me, then soundsystem. haven't heard the new album yet. the 311 train lost it's steam for me in '02 or '03. but those first three discs will always be near and dear no matter how old and crusty i get.

^^you'd really put soundsystem last? its not their best but definitely not the worst, in my opinion anyway. and i don't think Evolver gets enough cred either, but people like what they like i guess. personally i fully support anything 311 does, even if the music isn't what it used to be, they are a very positive band with a humble presence and they respect their fans as much or more than any other band at their level of success. a lot of these d-bag jambasers love to hate on 311 but they can't really say why other than the fact that they're mainstream enough to actually sell albums and make music videos.

Dude nailed it on the head with this review of this album. The riffs and music are pretty rockin' and fun but the lyrics alot of the time sound like a kindergartner wrote them. The rapping sounds very much forced and screams "We are old but we need to show our fans that we can still rap/rock... kind of". I also heard that their show in Indy this past weekend was just awful. I wasn't there because I was seeing this small, up and coming band called phish... heard of them?
