Ozrics is distinctly British in the sense that there is no band in America (dare i say, on Earth) that sounds remotely like them. They have the trippiest, freakiest, weirdest, most adventurous sound. Spacey to the max. These guys would quickly attract a rabid, late-night fanbase on the American festival circuit if they toured more here.

These guys r also the original Jamtronica. They started out as early as Phish did in '83. I love these guys so much. Incredible music.

Ozrics headlined All-Good, in 03, or 04...I think 04 because John Egan was still with them, and holy shit that was the most intense musical journey I have ever went on. I hope that this article gives ozrics a bunch of new fans, because I have seen them at least 5 times here in the states and the crowds are ALWAYS way smaller than they should be. Ed is such a great guy too...I met him in MD and asked him if he wanted a dose, he smiled and kindly said...I am already there. GO SEE THIS TOUR. Even though it doesn't hold a candle to the old days with Jumpin John, it is still THE SICKEST space/prog/rock being made today.

Ozric Tentacles is pretty much "The Shit" when it comes to electronic music. I found them a number of years ago while in Amsterdam, and have been obsessed ever since. I haven't caught them in a while, and though it is dissapointing that John Egan is no longer with them, I am so incredibly excited to hear that they are moving to the states. More Tentacles Please!

The first time I saw them was back in the mid-early 90's on one of the very few US tours they did. They were very good then and it was a much bigger lineup. I got to see them again several years ago ~ 03/04(John Egan was still with them) but I have to say they were a little disappointing. (just not the same level of intensity). Their older material is well worth a listen especially Afterswish (Best of from the 80s to early 90s) and Jurassic Shift. Very innovative and trippy.

Saw them in the mid-90s at Wetlands in NYC and was really impressed. Agreed that they are the original Jamtronica and have influenced a ton of bands currently in the jam scene. Glad to hear that they'll be playing the states more in the future.

So glad to see NO HATERs here, as they are the straight HEAT. I can't wait to see them tour more often and hit BOS. They are the ultimate late nite band and should be at Camp to melt all. Ozric's studio shit is unreal, get 'em!!!!

I was upset that they were not able to make it to Wakarusa in 07, some bullshit with customs or something. But I saw the next year at Waka and they were amaaaazzzing!!!!!

....I felt like I was in a spaceship!

I remember hearing that they moved or are moving to Boulder. Wouldn't a Ozrics Red Rocks show be sick?!

Finally Ozric gets some much needed attention around here. But is it too late? The first time i saw them was at the masquerade in atl in 94, then late 90's and 2000 in atl, charlotte and in athens opening for the biscuits. They blew my mind and took me to that place of great distance every time from the first note on. I got into other bands ie phish and biscuits afterwards and none did it like Ozric. i was jaded from that point on with psych prog, electronic music. Shpongle, younger brother, biscuits try but they just dont bring the energy and musical prowess like Ozric did back in the day. They where definitely ahead of there time. Now i just dont know last time i saw them with this line up was a few years ago and i was very disappointed compared to all the mind fucks they have given me in the past with the original line-up.

Funny fact - Beatstock mentioned the All-Good show, which was 04, great show, probably the last really good Ozric show ive seen - Roger Waters son Harry played keys that tour and ripped it up, wish he would have stuck around.

If you want to see what they are live with the mostly original line-up check out the DVD - live at the pong masters ball - "its marmalade"
