Lol all you want man,,,it shows you're obviously ignorant to the body of work this man has produced. Not "jammy" perhaps, but his catalog is a continuing exploration of his evolving musical muse. World music, latin, calypso, reggae, blues, folk, edgy rock, and jazz, flow from disc to disc over the years, and his lyrics, whether expressing his zen-like observations of the beauty of this world, or cutting it with precision sharp political / social commentary, have stood the test of time. Kudos to JB for this article. It's always amazed me that he hasn't been more widely recognized and included in festivals in this scene.

I recently saw Cockburn for maybe the 5th time--the first was at Passims in Cambridge in 1978. Even though I ask myself "Why should I see him again?" I am always very impressed by his performances. The combination of his guitar playing (five instruments on the stage), clear, insightful lyrics, stage presence and strong voice combine to make a performance that is head-and-shoulders above many acts that I see (e.g., David Lindley, whom I had seen the night before). Plus, the guy must be in his early 60s!! In addition, most of his songs are not at all dated--go back and check out "Facist Architecture" from "Humans."

The fact that his name is hilarious has nothing to do with his work as an artist......but it's gotta be ust about the funniest name in the world...Sounds like something a chick might say to her friends as in: Q. "How was sex with Bruce last night?" A. "Bruce Cockburn my pussy really bad"

How infantile, marcsmall1. This is a discussion about an extremely talented, prolific, well-loved artist and you focus on the spelling of his name. Do you even know it's pronounced KO-BURN??
