Why do you not care about the rights of less fortunate people to have a shot at education, health care, etc?
If the freedoms you spoke of created, by free market forces, a benevolent society in which all have at least a fair shot at success, I would agree.
Unfortunately, the people who are to be most "put upon" by any of Obama's tax plan, have proven over the course of history that they are in it for themselves, and will cheat, lie, and tread upon the less fortunate in the name of making a buck. Lay-offs, outsourcing, offshoring, reduction in wages, going overseas to avoid fair labor practices or environmental regulations... all slowly destroying the middle class, and making the rich richer while the poor get poorer.
I do care about my individual freedoms - but my freedoms are more limited by the whim of the CEO and Board than by any law. At any moment, I could lose my job, which I am very good at and dedicated to, so that the Executives could lay off workers and vote themselves multi-million dollar raises.
I hope you don't lose any "individual freedoms" and in fact believe that the democrats, this time around, are the closest to "right for America."
What is really funny is that I keep hearing the same politicians who approved the $700b bail-out going and saying "socialism bad!"
