I like how Obama said the only reason gas was at 1.86 when he took office is because the economy was in the tank. Lets think about this rationally. If gas is around 4 bucks now imagine what the prices would be like when the economy is booming say with 5% unemployment. What will it be 8 bucks a gallon. It was the dumbest statement I think he could have made. It is completely false any rational thinking person regardless of party should think deeply about it."
^actually, I think this would be the dumbest statement he could have made. I mean if you analyze the issue in a ridiculously simplistic manner, you could come up with this. BUt, if you look at it realistically, and factor in all of the issues which we were experiencing at the time, many of which we actually have overcome on Obama's watch, you can see that he's right. we are still recovering, sure, but the gas prices that did, in fact, plummet in the late part of '08 have had plenty of time and opportunity to correct and, so naturally, they have.
