I like how Obama said the only reason gas was at 1.86 when he took office is because the economy was in the tank. Lets think about this rationally. If gas is around 4 bucks now imagine what the prices would be like when the economy is booming say with 5% unemployment. What will it be 8 bucks a gallon. It was the dumbest statement I think he could have made. It is completely false any rational thinking person regardless of party should think deeply about it.

Where was gas 1.86 a galling in 2008? I'm pretty sure I haven't paid less than two dollars since like 05. Also demand low=low price. You sleep through ECON 101?

I'm going with what has been used as the national average in 2008

By the way, in the summer of 2008 gas prices were at a record high, with a US average of $4.11 a gallon. Yea some of us do actually remember things from 4 years ago. He must think we're stupid and will like re-remember the past or something.

Dan got me thinking about the 1.86 number so I did some digging. Gas actually at one point was as low as 1.61 but also as high 4 bucks. However the national average was about 3.25 but don't take my word for it here is two pretty good articles about gas prices since the 1960's
