Got Something to Say?

Hey all, I haven't had time to come around here lately and will have to set aside some time to catch up then (not happening today though), but I at least wanted to pop in today to give a heads-up to any Hagerstown-area basers that CABINET is playing a FREE show TONIGHT at Hempen Hill BBQ. They've only played there once before, their first show in that area actually, and by all accounts they had a great reception, so I expect tonight will be awesome too. :)

Anyone going? I will be there with my friend Adam (it's his birthday), and I'll be working merch, if anyone wants to find me and say high. ;)

Vik, I wanna go to the Cabinet show in New Hope, but it's like $20. Now, I've never seen them, but that seems like a lot for this band. Not their fault. This place always has decent stuff, but the shows are crazy expensive. I know you are a fan, but would you pay $20 to do it?

Well Cabinet tix aren't normally that high, but if you've never seen them before and this is your chance, I'd say do it. They are not just your average bluegrass band, there's just something different and special about them, they have good originals, and they're always a great time.

Isn't New Hope somewhere in the vicinity of Philly? Because they're also playing The Blockley on Thurs 9/13 and that's a cheaper ticket, but it's only an opening set (opening for Greensky Bluegrass though, so it should be a good show, not that I've ever seen them myself). http://www.theblockley.com/event/141612/

Cabinet just opened Peach Fest yesterday (main stage) and Keith was there recording both audio and video. I'll post when he uploads.

Incidentally, MiZ kicked things off today at noon (also main stage). Both these bands are from Scranton, and I think the only local bands in the lineup. All my boys are doing me proud! :)

Yeah, I'm about 45 minutes from Philly. I can walk to New Hope. Doubt I'll pay to see them for that price though.

By the way... that Kipona Festival date in Harrisburg on 9/2... that's a FREE fest at Riverfront Park (like 50 bands on 3 stages over 3 days, here's the lineup without set times: http://greenbeltevents.com/2012-kipona-fest-music-lineup/)... I've been told Cabinet's set time is 6:00.

I can't believe I'll be missing my hometown Cabinet show, but I already have a ticket to Steve Vai at The Chameleon in Lancaster that night, which is an hour away with a door time of 7:00. I may try to catch at least part of the Cabinet show before I have to hit the road, not sure yet. :/

You should do like I do and become a streeteamer for the venue and get into all the shows for free! ;)

I do want to go, vik, but I am completely on the fence soley because of the money. This place doesn't do the street team thing, and if they did, I wouldn't do it anyway because I am always busy working and stuff.

Hokie, the place sucks, drinks are a fortune in addition to the crazy ticket prices. It would be like $100+ night, unless I want to go sober. Sober, hokie. Sober.
