if UM ever did break up I would have to kill myself too. THey have so many fucking side projects. They would prolly make more. Then there would be 10 or 15 awful bands that are kind of like UM but even worse. FUCK THAT!
following moe. around sounds like a really lame existence.
Local band terrrrrrrr is where its at brooothurrrrrrrssssss

"theres so many more ways to create music than boring old instruments, people will always be experimenting and changing the music industry"
LOL RAGE, you mean "instruments" an object that makes a sound/music
well i guess you could count a computer, but it just mimicks the sounds of the boring old instruments, but you dont need the talent to play them.
fuckin etards are growing daily, almost as bad as juggalo fam, WHOMP WHOMP!

I personally don't think that Phish is going to stop doing shows any time soon. Everyone in the band is healthy and happy doing what they do. They all have children now, so I don't think they will be touring year round. I respect that they are choosing to prioritize their families above their career and legacy. But, they love what they do and have fun doing it. Phish isn't going anywhere any time soon. They will just be doing their thing less frequently, and that is great.

I don't buy the basic premise of this thread. First, I agree with some of the others that I do not see Phish stopping any time soon. They are to the core musicians. What else are they going to do? Get regular jobs? Retire? Come on! We have already seen that true musicians keep playing until they can't play anymore (and sometimes even longer). Look at BB King, Rolling Stones, Phil Lesh, and on and on.
Second, most of the Phish heads I have met in the past few years are not like the Deadheads of old. While they are fanatical in their love for the band, it is not their entire universe. After all, they have stopped touring for long stretches.
I think everyone will be just fine whenever Phish does hang it up. We will all be pretty old then ourselves.

^ Agreed. Tour is no longer a feasible full time job.
