Strangecreek/Wormtown, man!! I live in CT, we don't have much in just our state, prolly cuz its super small, but New England in general is fuckin loaded. Max Creek, Ghosts of Jupiter, Assembly of Dust, Zach Deputy, Ryan Montbleau, etc. Zach and Montbleau are more national now, but they started in southern New England. LOOVE Max Creek. We truely have the best local band, in that respect. They could easily tour nationally, could have for decades, and they don't.
CT we have The McLovin's and Shakedown, the only 2 bands from CT I can really think of that are worth mentioning. The Mclovin's are from the town over from me, they're 18yo musical prodigies who do these prog-rock Phish-Umph style songs. Awesome.
Shakedown's just the CT Dead cover band. I'll mention em cuz they're decent, if ur in CT, it's somethin to do. They play somewhere in CT every weekend. During the week they got their day jobs.

Other than that, I really wish I got more involved with the local jam scene, I don't really go to Strange Creek, I tend to gravitate to the bigger names, I'll just drive a few extra hours to c them if I hafta.

Strangecreek and Wormtown are my best friend from college, favorite festivals. He never misses them.
He is tall with long hair and you will often see him selling ganja wine.

I think Janis (the bassist) is music school good, but i think the rest of the band is such a bunch of scene kids who grew up listening to noodely Phish and Dead jams and just want to sound as jamband generic as possible...i think their sound is very bland, i don't think they can take a jam anywhere and I just think they try to sound to much like your average hippie jamband
I've probably seen them 4-5 times and out of those times only seen 1 full set because I just can't listen to more then a song of there's before I want to blow my brains out
