I enjoy Flying Lotus very much, they have a jazzy type of feel to them with some really intense soundscapes great for closed-eyed visuals. Another DJ I've been listening to is Tundercat, who has done tracks with Flying Lotus before, another jazzy act worth checking out. Also been getting into some chiptune stuff like Pepepiano, The Octopus Project, and Starscream.

Really wanted to catch Flying Lotus at Roo this year, but I will be in the middle of my teacher certification classes, whomp whomp.

noob here, first things first. EDM stands for electronic digital music?

I thought it was Electronic Dance Music, though I could be wrong. I know some of the bands I've listed are not strictly considered "Dance" music, but hey, if you can shake your ass to it then I guess it can be called that.

well damn, i dont think these uppity 'fans' even know what it means. probably heard lord bassnectar mention it in an interview on mtv

lulz^^^

don't think I will ever be able to enjoy dubstep, which sounds like robot farts to me. I will say, however, there are a few groups out there that use dubstep to accent their music in interesting ways. Beats Antique is a good example, not pure dubstep, just enough to not piss me off.
