Yeah, the flatbrimmer thread is good, but I made this one so I could make the description aspect more pronounced so the more skeptical folk can find stuff they enjoy.

Trying to make the Yin to the Yang that is the EDM hater threads.

I'm not even really looking for myself, contrary to some folk's beliefs I've been around the EDM block a few times, I just don't care enough to act like it. as I said in the previous post I made this one to try and help others find stuff they can dig on.

I love Four Tet and Bonobo, anything else that's "electronica-but-doesn't-sound-it"

Delerium (look up remixes of their songs, they're hard trance, as opposed to their original material which is very new age-ie)

Crystal Castles are cool, I like the synth pop type stuff when I'm boarding. You'll hear it a lot in snowboard videos, so it gives me the stoke. Plus a lot of its real energetic and stuff like aerobics music. MSTRKRFT is veryyy much like that.

It's odd, I tend to like faster paced music when it comes to most genres, what with growing up on metal and all... But when it comes to EDM I find myself diggin the downtempo stuff more than anything.

I agree though Terrarium, most of my favorite DJ/Producers tend to use samples of organic instruments and mix them with their own tones. I guess I just enjoy the best of both worlds so to speak.

Yeah, I find with some tunes, you gotta be in the right mood/mindset to be able to truly appreciate it. Sometimes it's hard to get the right combination, I never try to write off tunes after a listen or two, I just try it at different times. Some of the stuff that I know swear by made me say, "What the hell is this?...." when I first listened, then I found myself wanting to listen to that shit that I didn't like or hate, then I found myself craving it at time. Usually the best stuff is an acquired taste, I can't think of any group that is in my top 10 that instantly made it into that list.

I've never really listened to any of this crap, just dismissed it as crap without giving it a chance.

That's understandable, pretty sure none of it is Scottish.

see I was about to say I had no interest because none of it had vocals and then you go and tell me about some with vocals. I'll go listen.

That's funny, I have trouble getting into SBTRKT cause of his use of Vocals tracks.
