Over one long weekend, from September 5th-7th, music enthusiasts will have the chance to take in a power-packed lineup of more than 70 artists performing on multiple stages against the sprawling wooded backdrop of Cherokee Farms in LaFayette, Georgia. Atlanta-based punk outfit Black Lips and space-rock legend Nik Turner's Hawkwind will play alongside acts including Danava, Shannon and the Clams, Cherie Currie, Black Oak Arkansas, Coathangers, Bloodshot Bill, Quintron, and many more.

Meltasia is the brainchild of Andy Animal, the audacious frontman of the Brooklyn garage-punk band Stalkers. The festival began in 2009 as a birthday party ("Andy Animal's Countrytime Meltdown Birthday Funabration Weekender 3-D") thrown at a small campground in the Catskill Mountains in upstate New York. Word spread, the party turned into a festival, and the organizers started looking for a bigger stomping ground.

Cherokee Farms sits on a 270-acre tract of land about 90 minutes north of Atlanta. Festival-goers will be able to cool off in the lake located on the property and camp out under the stars to rest up for what promises to be a marathon musical experience.

A three-day pass to Meltasia can be purchased for $125. A Saturday/Sunday pass is $100, and a solo pass for Sunday's performances is $80. Tickets can be purchased via Ticketfly.
