About me:I am a right-brain, creativity junkie. I am happiest when I'm pursuing creative projects. I've spent my adult life in the arts, playing and writing music, and also writing screenplays, short stories, and a large book, a memoir, which chronicles my journey in the arts: The Lizard Stays in the Cage. I am blessed with a wonderful family and a great group of friends. I am very focused and committed to my work and career, but at the end of the day my belief is that these pursuits are not as important as the legacy we leave behind as a human being--the ultimate vocation is to be kind to other people, and to add something positive to the world, not live strictly for material gain. Having said that, I wholeheartedly believe in the importance of art (music, film, literature, dance, etc.) as a fundamental aspect of life on this planet, not some peripheral diversion or afterthought.

Music means to me:Music is the universal language. It cuts through the numerous barriers that divide human beings. For me, music represents the right brain, the muse, imagination, creativity, artistic achievement, and the precious opportuniy to connect with others in a medium free of political, religious or ideological agendas.
Schools:Archbishop Mitty High School
DeAnza Junior College
San Diego State University
General Interests:I love to write both music and prose. I have written a memoir about my experiences in the arts thus far, titled The Lizard Stays in the Cage. I am close to my family, and enjoy the company of good friends.
Other Distractions:I am a major movie buff. I dig foreign films, am fascinated by the world of Bollywood, but also like a number of Hollywood films--many of them are lame, but there are quite a few gems as well. Among my favorite films, both classic and recent, are The Omen, Patton, Wall Street, Shane, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, This is Spinal Tap, Best in Show, For Your Consideration (and anything else by Christopher Guest), About Schmidt, Election, He Got Game, Salaam Bombay, Dirty Harry, A History of Violence, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Idiocracy, Midnight Cowboy, Capote...the list goes on and on...
I am also addicted to NBA basketball, particularly the playoffs. I played a lot of basketball growing up, and I simply LOVE the game. I also love tennis, and must confess I enjoy watching bowling on TV!
I love to travel, also. I've been to India, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, England, and France, recently, and I live for the opportunity to continue to see the world. It makes you a more conscientious, well-rounded person. You learn things about yourself and about the realities of the human experience that you'll never glean unless you get off your butt and see the world.
