About me:Paper Scissors is: Craig Brookes: Guitar/Vocals, Isaac Paris: Synthesizer, Bass, Accordian, Ryan Schmidt: Drums.
We are an eclectic indie/blues/fusion band originating from the frozen frontiers of Fairbanks, Alaska. We started as the backing band for a burlesque show in Alaska. We quickly realized we shared a similar vision of and live for music and took off running from there. We started playing parties at our friends' plumbing-less cabins in Fairbanks, hauling gear from gig to gig in temperatures approaching (sometimes exceeding) 40 degrees below zero. As I write this (Oct, 7, 2008) we are concluding our first tour of the "lower-48". Music means to me:Music is the only language that all people speak. Even before we are born our we can be allured by rhythm and tone, melody, and voice. There is nothing in this crazy mixed-up world that has the ability to transcend the barriers of ignorance, hate and fear that we often put up in between the comfort of our known world, and the insecurity of the unknown. These barriers must be obliterated if we hope to ever live in a more peaceful interactive world, and music can lead the way.
Schools:All three of us are Alumni of the University of Alaska, Fairbanks.
