About me:ruKus radio, the 24-hour independent Internet radio station that focuses solely on independent artists, is proud to present, in association with Rust Belt Brewing and MadMatts Promotions, ruKus - the Festival on Sept. 24 in Youngstown, Ohio.

Now embarking on its third voyage, ruKus – the Festival is a celebration of independent music and art, taking form in the most ridiculously obnoxious way possible – a musical and artistic circus in the streets. Establishing its roots with The Kellys hosting the festival at the Community Amphitheatre in
Warren, Ohio, in 2007 and 2008, the festival maintains its mission of bringing together artists of all mediums and genres to celebrate their independence and artistic autonomy at a one-day, 14-hour event to be held in the streets of downtown Youngstown.

In August, Rust Belt Brewing Company (www.rustybrew.com) will begin brewing a very special beer. ruKus – the Ale will be a completely independent brew, with hops grown on the North Side of Youngstown and malts coming from a small independent distributor. The beer will embody the
independent-based mindset of the station and the artists it promotes. To celebrate, the festival will launch at 12 p.m. with a parade through the streets of Youngstown (exact route to be determined), followed by what is shaping up to be the largest outdoor music festival the city has ever hosted. Two
main, outdoor stages will feature absolute top-notch independent musical acts from all over the country, while stages at venues throughout the city will play host to even more amazing bands. Initial estimates are putting us in the 50+ band/artist range with room to grow!
