About me: Call me Melissa, Mimi, Melba, Miesa, Missy, a hippy, a burner, a freak, or anything else you can dream up, but just don't call me late for the show. I truly live for live music. And I am fasinated by artistic expression of all kinds and is what "fires" me up. My dream is to accomplish all of the things I can think up along the way, costumes and clothing, event art that will blow your mind and leave you wanting more, artist portraits, cd cover designs, interactive stage art and full scale theater/music/performance art amalgamations(think blue man group for hippies, i.e. IMAGINE-the musical, THE WALL-full scale live show, creating a band specific show(ALO and the jam de solie'l animal extravaganza, SCI and the hooplart inventions show(gallery quality-stage specatcular art pieces made exclusively of hula hoops and cheese cloth) and the list goes on....I have ideas for many jam band game shows, "The jam is right." And instead of money you win free all access backstage passes and othe free musical schwag, bands could perform, and it could be a rockin' good time. Music means to me:....just about everything in the world. It stands for the creation, release, and enjoyment of about every emotion we humans have to offer. It gives me more inspiration for visual expression than anything else I've ever experienced and is by far more than entertainment, it is a way of life. There is something special about hearing your favorite band and that irresistable urge to move and groove. Dancing is my favorite thing to do in the world. It is primal,without boundaries, judgement, and doesn't nearly as complicated as sex;) Unique musical sounds, instruments, costumes, and dancing styles are formed by individual cultures, but to JAM means to blur those lines and mix and erase the steroetypes that go along with those cultural biases. What is good is right, regardless!!!!!
Schools:I pay to go to Northern Illinois University. I have a B.A. in Shakedown Scholastics. A Masters in Musical Schinanigins. And I am a transfer student to Black Rock City Community College and will persue my education there infinitely...
General Interests:Uh, what else do you want me to say? I like letters alot: L is or love, S is for singing, d is for dancing, m is for magic, t is for teaching this community and it's young to stop abusing these gifts-indulgence is stupidity. You must have respect for others around you and your own body that houses your soul. Leading a life of all around excellence is key. Terrance McKenna once said something to the fact that that the future for the lifestyle that we embrace has to become so successful and widespread that it was crazy to ever think that it was wrong and punished by society and it's leaders. Help me show them the way...... Next time you are at a gathering of musical sorts, pick up your own garbage-no excuses, respect your neighbors and share knowledge and ideas with them, express yourself in any way that you want, different is good. Just because everyone else wears patchwork doesn't mean you have to, too. Create your own style and don't worry what others will think. Dance like nobody is watching......
Other Distractions:Everything in this world is a distraction, but mmmmmm distraction. I am obsessed with cartoons, Spongbob, Powerpuff Girls, Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy, King of the Hill, Drawn Together, just to name a few. I want to start a comic about music.......Other than that tv isn't really my thing. I just started watching dvds of LOST, that show rocks.
