D3 is a Portland Oregon based jazz, funk, fusion experimental trio. This trio has been together since early 07’ creating what has been billed as "A hard-hitting acid jazz explosion!" – Yolanda Riley, Nightlife. With diverse influences ranging from Herbie Hancock to Elliott Smith these three musicians come together and create a blend of fresh original music that can groove any venue. Using original material and improvisation D3 explores the worlds of jazz, funk, hip-hop and electronica to fuse together a show that only D3 can bring. The great versatility of a D3 show is seen in the capability to entertain a large electric setting and also create a great atmosphere in a small, intimate acoustic setting. Members of the group have shared the stage with artists such as Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Oteil Burbridge, Jazz Mandolin Project and Stanton Moore. D3 is finishing up a major recording project and a new album is due to release in the fall of 08’.
