This lyric from MHB’s song could easily sum up his approach to songwriting. It seems like every day brings new inspiration and a new song to this talented and original artist’s growing repertoire.

With a unique, off-the-cuff style, MHB tends to record his music as he writes it. Impromptu recording sessions allow him to go with whatever is inspiring him in the moment. This keeps MHB music feeling organic and raw — even after songs are refined, added to, and perfected.

“What kind of music do you play?” is probably the most difficult question for MHB to answer. It’s hard describe MHB music as one particular “type” — it’s music deeply rooted in and influenced by blues, rock, funk, and reggae. What’s not hard is to feel an instant familiarity with it. Just like the music that’s influenced MHB, his songwriting and style carry a timeless quality that will keep his music relevant and relatable for years to come.

This is music based in the moment, as it happens, as it comes to the artist. This is music that carries a range of sounds as wide as MHB’s influences.
