About me:Matthew Charles Heulitt has been dancing with the six string for 20 years now and the journey keeps going deeper and deeper. His roots in prog rock soon led him to study classical guitar and jazz at the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, and then the University of Miami in Florida where he completed his undergrad in jazz performance. In 2001 his quest to unravel the guitar brought him to study Wayne Krantz in NYC. From there, his professional career has been as diverse as his tastes, from opening for Carlos Santana all over the US, Canada, and Europe, to playing rich South African folk music with Vusi Mahlasela. Locally, Matthew leads his own New York style jazz/rock trio and works with numerous singer/songwriters, jazz artists, rock/ska bands, and various session work.
