About me:I have several original songs. I badly need to find the right people to play them with/back me. Doesn't mean that I'm the frontman, just that I am a songwriter first, and performer second. Although I do enjoy the spontaneity of improvising solos. I am as committed as I can possibly be to the songs I have and the songs I have yet to write, and to making a living playing music. I'm looking for...someone who feels my music I guess, and who sees a spot for themselves in it, who will help me create and shape it.

Music means to me:I've been trying to track my influences for a while. I started making a list, is up to about 2,660 recording artists, probably at least 1,500 of whom are serious influences. I think of David Bowie, Marc Bolan of T Rex, Lou Reed, Bob Dylan, The Band, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Rolling Stones, and The Beatles when I write- comparing myself to them, hearing their influence, etc. I love the Breeders, Miike Snow, and M.I.A., and Dr. Dog among many others (Tool, Edward Sharpe, Hair Rocket-check em out, what i've heard from everything having to do with Mad Decent [Blaqstarr, Rye Rye, etc.], Steely Dan). Genres I love are Doo Wop, Rootsy-type Blues, Country, Glam Rock/Proto-Punk, Hip Hop, Industrial, Electronic, Rock, Rock and Roll, Jazz (Bebop and others). Whatever genres or artists don't turn me on I look forward to learning more about and listening to more closely, cuz I don't want to be against anyone making music, and truly at least every MUSICAL experience influences us in our writing and performing, emulating what we like and shying from what we dislike. But actually every experience of life influences me. I don't know about you, but I suspect the same. You can love it or hate it but we probably all know some words to a Britney Spears song, because we musicians and music-lovers are listeners.
