Eoto -10/15/08 - Albany, NY
Sun 10/19/2008 2:43PM
Lately ive been expanding my musical diversity with the tastey sounds of more electronia based music like Lotus, so it was an easy decision to round up some friends and head down to Red Square for the Eoto show.

Being that Eoto often takes the reins of many late night spots at some popular festivals, i figured it would be a packed house (as other bands such as GPGDS easily fills the place) but unfortunately it was a pretty small crowd.  Although there was much more room to boogie, i personally like feeding off the energy of other people as well as seeing the band play at there best in front of a packed house.

The show kicked off about 1030ish and these boys (by boys i mean old ass dudes) rocked the place til after 2 in the morning...despite the small crowd totally of about 30 people.

The place was absolutely on fire the entire time these guys were playing. In case yall dont know Eoto samples and mixes there jams differently everytime they play, they never play the same song twice, and no songs have names.

Dude1 (im sry i prob should look up there names) guy played a drum set which included a Roland SPD-S sampling pad, he was absolutely rippin on the drums the whole night, alot of the jams were pretty dang fast tempo so he was drumming his balls off all night. Dude2 (sry again) did all the sampling, he had a few computers open, from what it looked like one of the programs he was using was Pro Tools. He had a few big ass boards with 100 of knobs that he would twist and tweak all night, the source of most of the trancey ambient sounds.  being a guitarist, i was wondering how the fuck he was doing the things he was doing. are all the effects essentially "on" and by turnin the knobs up you engage the effects? it was somewhat mind boggling. He also could bongo like no ones business.

All and all it was a great time, 2 dollar utica club on draft and met some cool people. At one point in the show had been dancing so hard i literally was sucking wind heavily...ya people were grooving that hard and no i wasnt rolling :)

for anyone that hasnt listened to Eoto here is a fantastic show they did with kimock on archive...
