bethanybrennan's Profile

About me:I am a Pirate of the Geek breed. Music, games, software, movies, television shows, e-book... you name it--I can get it and I do get it, and I don't ever feel bad about it.

I am the world's only fundamentalist Atheist. I voted Democratic in this past election, but I like to consider myself way too far to the left to even BE a Democrat.-- I see myself more of a Revolutionary, but no, not an Anarchist, because that is just ridiculous. These days, however, I am not as immersed and passionate about politics in America as I once was--I was left badly beaten after the 2004 election and became disillusioned and I don't think that melancholy feeling will EVER go away.

Music means to me:It started with my dad listening to Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Green Day. It was interrupted by Korn and Limp Bizkit. It resumed with the Offspring, Filter, Beatles, The Doors and The Pixies. It peaked at NOFX, Propagandhi, Primus, Ween, Against Me!, Rancid, Refused, Bosstones, Bad Religion. It stayed good with The Disco Biscuits, Muse, Queens of the Stoneage, The Mars Volta, Bassnectar, Immortal Technique and Cursive.

It's the lyrics and the music for me. It's the raw emotion behind it. It's the pure talent. It's the sound. It's rough around the edges. It's the screaming for change. It's the slow rise to the climactic peak where you completely lose it. It's the memories you associate with certain songs, and the feelings they bring back every time they are heard.
