About me:Music has been a part of his life from early childhood.
The first out of his four siblings to pick up an instrument, his first love was harmonica, then came guitar, and finally the drums. His mother was a vocalist & Folk guitarist for most of his life, which influenced his songwriting and vocal style.
Throughout his teen and early twenties, he developed his talents as a vocalist, bass player & drummer in various Chicago bands. In addition he spent time working the stage/sound crew for many local acts.
Driven by a desire to give life to his own songs, he decided to take hold
of the creative reigns and relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area in January 2004.
At first, he and his brother Joe (Bass) performed as an acoustic trio with vocalist Amy Billharz in small coffee shops and art fairs. The arrival of Michael Castro (Drums) and Bill Sheridan (Lead Guitar) completed that incarnation of the band.
He went on to play more clubs around the Bay Area and record a four song demo album at Expressions Studios in Emeryville, with Tim Lindeen at the controls.
In January 2007, Ben returned to Chicago to take the Drummer’s throne again for a rock band called "Harvest" They toured the East coast and Midwest over the course of the year, playing many clubs and festivals. In September, they began work on their first studio album at Hilltop Studios in Fox River Grove.
Soon Ben heard the call of California again and parted ways shortly after finishing the album.
Here it is 2008 and Ben has settled in Los Angeles to begin what will be the next chapter in his musical story. Stay tuned for shows and new music coming soon!
