About me:Raised on rock, Sonia combines the intensity of the greats fused with her own love for the music style. She’s been playing guitar since the age of nine, taking lessons in classical, blues, and rock. Influenced mainly by classic rock greats such as Zeppelin, Clapton, Stones, Beatles, Santana, etc…, Sonia was then introduced to the blues scene in the last six years or so through the local blues clubs and jam sessions. She realized then that bass was her calling “I play Bass, That’s what I do” is what you’ll hear her say many times. And that’s what she’s been doing now either with her own Sonia & The Situation band as well as sub positions when they come up and backing other musicians at local jam sessions. She also has a weekly jam session of her own in the Lincoln Heights area at The Office Cocktail Lounge every Tuesday night.
