About me:MISSION: Sunset Promotions produces inventive experiences that incubate sustainable artistic communities. Ours is an unadulterated independent perspective, which embodies the progressive ideals of our San Francisco home. A 15-year old boutique success story, Sunset tirelessly promotes quality niche music, and art through concerts, parties, exhibitions and festivals. We are committed to building progressive urban events in a manner that is environmentally, economically, and socially sustainable.



HISTORY: Sunset Promotions was originally founded in 1997 by John Miles and Robbie Kowal to bring New Orleans musicians to San Francisco. Over the years, that mission expanded to funk, soul, hip hop, world music, djs and eventually the whole of dance-music culture as we now know it. We have also lent our sweat and blood to a variety of artistic and social causes over the years and combined with our concerts have come to embody San Francisco’s progressive, creative, and artistic soul.
