Just saw Kanvus for the first time this past Sunday: Tue 11/13/2007 12:04PM; I am so impressed by this new band that I was fortunate enough to see this past Sunday at a little bar in North Beach. I just moved to the Bay from the East Coast, and this is my 4th or 5th time tasting the SF jam scene (I saw Soundtribe on Halloween and a few others). The band is called Kanvus, and from what I have read on jambase and off of their website, they are a new/young band.
I live for finding bands like this and it is such a treat to experience a band that has this much energy at their live shows. I have been show hopping for 20+ years and I haven't experienced a band with this much love and positive energy since I saw the String Cheese Incident play in a litttle bar in Telluride Colorado in the late 90's. I am glad that I was able to experience them in a small setting because from what I saw, they will be big in the next year. They played for almost 4 hours and the place was packed.. They went from playing the Magnum P.I. theme song to playing some really catchy, funky originals. Wow! Truly was blown away! Can't wait for the next Kanvus show.
