Jimiller's Profile

About me: Jim Miller is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, mandolinist and front man for the The JiMiller Band and is joined by some of Cleveland’s brightest musicians. Brett Miller on bass and vocals; Steve Scheff on the keyboards and vocals; Matt Harmon on guitar and dobro; and Dan Carter on the drums. Jim was business manager of the band Oroboros and orchestrated their 18-year odyssey on the road visiting Thailand, Canada, and all of the U.S. from the Rockies to Florida and up to Nantucket. Jim has opened for Phish, Richard Thomson, Merle Saunders and the Grateful Dead’s Lyricist, Robert Hunter. He has jammed on stage with the likes of Hot Tuna, Blues Traveler, Sheryl Crow and the Allman Brothers Band. He also played in the 1994 H.O.R.D.E. Fest, The 1996 Further Fest (with members of the Grateful Dead) and the opening of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s Psychedelic Exhibit (with Big Brother and the Holding Company, Country Joe and Donovan). With Oroboros, Jim opened for Go Ahead (comprised of the members from the Grateful Dead and Santana), the Radiators, Black Uhuru, Santana, The Kinks, and Rusted Root. The JiMiller band played the 10,000 Lakes Fest in 2004 with String Cheese and Galactic. They also opened for Bruce Hornsby, as well as opening for Little Feat at Cleveland's House of Blues in 2005 & 2006. Memorial Day Weekend of 2007 the band opened for Rusted Root at Time Warner Amphitheatre in Cleveland, Ohio (previously Tower City). You can probably guess the scope of music the band plays! Of course there will be Jim’s originals as well as covers of the Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers Band, Beatles, and Phish mixed in with various Soul, Bluegrass, Traditional Folk, Blues, and plenty of Jamming!
