About me:Ifdakar's pursuit of musical growth and experimental improvisation create an experience not to be forgotten. Hailing from Madison, Wisconsin, this four piece band has garnered recognition for their live performances, where the band channels elements of psychedelic rock, funk, jazz, and electronica. The result is a mind bending, dance infused, jamtronica that it is unmistakably their own.

From songs that are tragic, to songs that transcend, Ifdakar showcases an array of improvisational jamming and elaborately structured pieces that are steeped in influences such as Phish, STS9, MMW, Pink Floyd, Les Claypool, Lotus, the Flecktones and many others. This spectrum allows for dense musical freedom, to tension-and-release madness.

Ifdakar has been fortunate enough to share the stage with scene luminaries such as Ozric Tentacles, Melvin Seals of JGB w/ the Swag, EOTO, Xavier Rudd, Wookiefoot, Kim Manning of Parliament Funkadelic, Willie Waldman Project, Steve Molitz of Particle, Euforquestra, Roster McCabe, Family Groove Company, the Heavy Pets, Heatbox, Steez, Useful Jenkins, Dead Larry, the Coop, Sovereign Sect. Strange Arrangement, Smokin Bandits, Mark Joseph Project, Ben Miller Band, the Grasshoppers, and many, many others.

As Ifdakar continues to climb the ranks of the Midwest scene, their popularity has started to snowball. Reaching capacity at marquee club shows regularly, the band has begun to make the jump to theaters, picking up hundreds of new fans along the way. Festival promoters have taken notice, too, as Ifdakar has performed at such nationally recongnized festivals in 2011 such as headlining the Grateful Garcia Gathering (3yrs running), Shangri La (Wookiefoot's Harvestfest), Project Earth ( Wookiefoot Charity Fest), Bella Music Fest (3 yrs), Milwaukee's Summerfest (3 yrs), Madison Harvest Fest (4yrs), Praire Grass Music Festival (2 yrs), as well as headlining their their own festival Ifdakamp, SLM Fest, Crivestivus, Pow Wow in the Pines, and Land of Electric. Other festival appearances include Cabin Pheeva, Campout Roots, Fall Roots, Feel Good Festival, Jakefest, Rockin in the Woods, the Late Summer Diet Festival, Fe Fi Fo Fum, Steel Bridge Songfest, and many others.
Ifdakar's debut album "On the Edge" was nominated for "Album of the Year" at nationally recognized Homegrown Music Network! and finished #5 in fan votes in 2010.

Ifdakar's debut album "On the Edge" appeared in issues of Relix Magazine/Jambands.com radio charts at #18 in Feb. 2010.

Ifdakar has been nominated for Artist of the Year, and Unique Album of the Year (On the Edge-2010) by the Madison Area Music Association!
