Music means to me:Music is my release, I don't play but I love to just listen and dance at festivals and enjoy the time I get away like that. I also love ot party at shows and in general so I might be the guy a lil messed up over there.

Gathering of the Vibes 2009 July 23-27 Bridgeport CT

Well just relised I never mentioned Vibes this year.  Well amazing year.  The 13 hours of rain the first night was halarious considering my head full of liquid acid and my brother trying to stop the problem of the walls caving in due to all the water.  Let me lay at ease knowingn he couldn't let it happen because his head was full of acid as well.  Donna Jean was worth braving the rain that night as well as some other lower level groups.  The next day was gorgeous and started out with partying and a laugh seeing how chris locked his keys in the vehicle and getting the tow guy in to unlock was a bitch.  The sets all day were great starting the day with Ryan Montebleau and ending the night with Dark Star Orchestra for 3 hours.   Saturday was even better with another beautiful day consisting of AOD George Clinton and the immortal lyrics by Bob Weir and Ratdog.  I have to say the rolls for Dark Star Orchestra were great and the vibe I had each night with the crowd and of course the 10 or so glow sticks I had was great.  Exspecially the glow stick globe I bought for way to much off a random person.  I love my glow sticks.  Sunday we left early as usual but hung around to listen to John Browns Body but was dissappointed to see Toth and the rest of the true horn section not present.

Well as no need to be stated festivals, no matter the time of year, are were I'm happier and at ease then any other day of the year even if I was to go alone.  Put me to peace.  This year brought along trusty old Caleb for his first festival or all time along with the return of the long lost Utter after a year off of the scene along with Gillian.  Have to say the weather sucked for a first day.  Having to sit through hours of rain while parking over a mile from the camp site was a bitch.  Not to mention starting the day 2 hours behind since caleb and i got wasted the other night at the bar.  Got to our camp spot which was clutch other then the big light and generator not to far from us.  Within 150 ft down shakedown street I had secured my headies and doses for a month to come:)  And have to admit some of the best acid ever.  Then stayed dry for aslong as we could before venturing to the main stage for Tony Vacca.  His set was amazing and no it wasn't just of the acid, though didn't hurt.   The addition of fire spinners this year was a great touch not just for the beautiful girls and talents but hey great visuals.  After the set we preceded back and I spent the night messing with caleb and making him laugh as he couldn't decide to be in our out of the tent most the night.  Woke up late the next day but was beautiful and started in on the partying at breakfest.  Gillian arrived around 3ish and then it was off to the races  Lost utter off and on which is not a problem considering with gillian i'd lose my friends too lol.  The set by the Wailers sat. night was the best I've ever heard them play live.  Damien Marley was on beat with every vocal note and the band played flawlessly.    The 420 mob however wasn't the great till George Clinton came out to save them.  Overall I'd say it was a great show.  Just wish I didn't have to leave at 2am and get home so I could be at work by 8:30am.  Next year taking that monday off
6/14/2009 Blues Traveler at Saranac Brewery

Alirghty folks as usual since I don't pay for shows i'm not going to like I have to say Blue's Traveler was worth the 30 dollar admission.  I don't happen to remember the name of the opening act but I must say the bands female vocalist had alot of things in common with that of Deep Banana Blackout.  The location is new to me even though I live 40 minutes away I had yet to hit up any of the Saranac shows.  The area was wide open and was nice because we were early and snatched up a picnic table.  Along with me on this show was two of my good friends Brandon and his gf Sarah.  Blues Traveler set list hit on several new songs that they have worked on since the short hiatous due to John Hopper's gastric bipass surgery and he looks good and sounds great.  They also as usual hit us with many classics as anyone would expect. Once the set list is available I will post it on here.  Other high notes about the show and venue was even though it orginally said it was ending at 9 it went on till 10.  Early close because it's a sunday and a family oriented place. Not alot of space for the usual bowl burning was done 2 hits at a time in the porta johns which i admit were damn clean.  And on another plus side the beers were great and fairly priced.  With two beer tents it took maybe 1 minute for each beer.  Loved it!  I will be deff. going back to hit up the dark start orchestra and keller williams show next month
