Aqueous's Profile

About me:Aqueous is a hard working, up and coming rock/jam band from the Buffalo, New York area. The band formed in the year 2005 with members consisting of Brad Darrall (drums), Mike Gantzer (guitar/vocals), Dave Loss (guitar/vocals) and Evan McPhaden (bass guitar). It wasn’t until late 2008 that percussionist Nick Sonricker joined Aqueous. Nick had been a long time friend of the band and had played with them on many occasions before officially joining.

Over the years, Aqueous has undergone great transformations. The band began by learning numerous covers by some of their favorite artists such as Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, and Pink Floyd. With time and a few gigs under their belt, the band began to alter their style from straight classic rock to a more contemporary jam style. Now this is not to say that the classic rock feel can no longer be heard! Aqueous still performs many of these classic covers along with their awe-inspiring originals and their early and current influences still shine through. All things considered, the band is truly starting to develop a style that is like nothing else. The band blends together everything they have ever heard into something uniquely Aqueous. It is not unlikely to hear them play songs that include fluent improvisational jams that reference multiple genres of music. Although the instrumental aspect is the bands strength, they also write creative lyric parts with catchy melodies that will have you humming on the car ride home from an AQ show.

The band now focuses on writing and learning new songs and striving to put on the best live show possible. The stage is where Aqueous comes alive! The dynamic guitar work and creative lyrics of Dave and Mike are unlike anything anyone has ever heard before. While the two guitarists take the lead, Brad, Evan, and Nick set deep grooves that hold the foundation and give Aqueous that unique sound. The chemistry between the members can be attributed to their unique bond off the stage. The band members are all long time friends and all share a passion for music. The band also subscribes to the values of jam band ethics. They strive to make each show a new and different experience and treat all of their fans as friends at one big party! Aqueous is becoming known in the Western New York area and is developing a large fan base that grows with each show. People are really beginning to recognize the potential in Aqueous!

EXTRACTED FROM www.aqueousband.com:

Hello to everyone again, it's the latest installment to the blog! And it is some really good news. We've been doing a lot of writing lately and its official, we will be putting out our first full length album. So far we have only released our 6 song self-titled EP so it's exciting for us to work on a full length work. We are really just getting started so it will be a while before we actually release it. Anything and everything is influencing our writing so you might hear some interesting things. We're just letting it all happen naturally and once we have an album's worth of groovy songs we will begin recording. Our live shows have been a big part in our writing process so make sure you don't miss any shows because you might be hearing the next AQ tune... we don't even know! Either way, we'll see you at the next one!
