On S.O.S.: Save Our Soul, this young gifted musician whose voice defies his appearance, masterfully breathes fire and passion into classic songs many listeners his age haven't even heard. Broussard plumbed the vaults of historic labels like Motown and Stax to create 11 performances that are sweltering and incendiary and true. Marc and the band were adamant in their desire to do justice to the songs they chose by recreating their original sounds and arrangements as closely as possible.

Produced by long time collaborator/co-writer Justin Tocket and Broussard bassist and music director Calvin Turner, Marc chose powerful soul/R&B classics such as Al Green's "Love and Happiness" the record's first single, The Staple Singers "Respect Yourself," Stevie Wonder's "You Met Your Match," Otis Redding's "I've been Loving You Too Long" and "Yes, We Can, Can" written by New Orleans songwriter Allen Toussaint. Broussard himself penned the one original song on S.O.S.: Save our Soul, "Come In From The Cold," a distinctive, sophisticated R&B ballad delivered in Marc's own soulful southern style.

Broussard was born into a musical family in Carencro, Louisiana. The son of Louisiana Hall of Fame guitarist (and member of The Boogie Kings) Ted Broussard, Marc grew up listening and playing with his father and was instilled with an appreciation of the blues and the Cajun traditions of the south. At the age of 20, he released his first record, 2002's Momentary Setback. He made his breakthrough in 2004 with his critically acclaimed major label debut Carencro, which featured the stomping blues/funk/rock of the single "Home."

Marc and his band are known for their relentless touring and high energy shows that have won them legions of fans. They have performed sold out shows in thousand plus capacity venues around the country, have been regulars on the festival circuit and have toured with such artists as Maroon 5, Dave Matthews Band, Ronnie Raitt and Willie Nelson, to name a few. They will be hitting the road in support of S.O.S.: Save our Soul in early summer.
