Tickets to trumpeter Chris Botti's last Basie appearance were so hot we had to have him back. Since his 1995 debut release, he has satisfied the desire of adult music lovers everywhere for the sound of classic romantic jazz. A five-time Grammy Award nominee, three of his albums have reached the #1 position on the Billboard jazz albums chart. Crossing the lines between contemporary jazz, traditional jazz and pop music, he has worked with a diverse array of artists including Paul Simon, Frank Sinatra, Joni Mitchell, and Natalie Merchant. Rex Reed called him, “The sexiest trumpeter since Chet Baker.” Botti and Sting’s recording of “What Are You Doing For The Rest Of Your Life?” won the 2006 Grammy for Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist(s). His latest release is Chris Botti in Boston, on which he performs with the Boston Pops Orchestra and guests Yo Yo Ma, Steven Tyler, Josh Groban, Katherine McPhee, John Mayer, and Sting.
