These guys are extremely talented- but do not play live shows in the manner they should be played- it is more of a boy band experience than you would expect. At least that is what we got in Birmingham, AL this past weekend at Sloss Furnace. I love what they are trying to do with their style, but I really wish they would do it well. After online service fees we spent $30 on each ticket- which I have no problem with. The show lasted for ONLY an hour and a half- and let me say that I would have been much more satisfied spending $10 on their CD off of iTunes, because that is what the entire show sounded like. When you go to see a band play live- they should play a live show for you. This was a huge waste of time and money. I would have never expected this level of disappointment from such a talented group of musicians. Something in their band structure really needs adjustment. If you want to see a good live show without being robbed for no good reason- (the songs sound the exact same as they do on the CD) DO NOT waste your time or money on an Avett Brothers show.
