FolknBluesGrass got it's start in 2004 when Brian Curran asked Steve Bauer to come sit in with him at his show at the Broadway Oyster Bar in downtown St. Louis. Brian and Steve instantly hit it off but realized they needed more to complete the sound. Steve was also in a band called the Blue River Canyon Band with Travis King, so he asked Travis and his doghouse to come down to the Oyster Bar .
