Young & New was invented by Rhode Island-raised singer/songwriter
Brandon Scott McLean in early 2012, introducing a soulful mix of
Funky-Twang and Alternative Rock, for fans of Paul McCartney, Phish,
and Sheryl Crowe.
Between Cougar Magnum, the Windsor Oaks Band and 'solo', Brandon has
played over 1000 shows and gigs since 2008. Working up and down the
east coast, he has cultivated a fairly respectable following in a few
cities, especially Providence, Boston, Baltimore, and Raleigh.
Throughout all that touring and name-changing nonsense, Brandon has
developed an honest and edgy roots-rock sound, influenced by Eddie Van
Halen, Poison, Dave Matthews Band, and Elvis.
Traveling in a big green Ford van, and living half in RI, half in NC,
McLean has managed to sell over 2200 hand-written, home-burned CD-R
copies of his first home-recorded solo album that came out July 4,
2010--First Kisses.
In 2011 he graciously found time to record and tour with The Windsor
Oaks Band (formerly Cougar Magnum), moving almost 1000 units of their
debut album in one short summer with absolutely no pro help in the way
of booking and promotion.
This project represents Brandon's reinvention of mind and body, which
will include lots of amazing musicians making moves, with catchy
hooks, intense jams, and an inescapable feeling of familiarity laced
with LOVE.
