Pushing the Sun
Pushing the Sun Pushing the Sun was started by guitarist/songwriter Billy Connally. After his successful instrumental album release "The Silent Canvas" on Steve Vai's Digital Nations label, he wanted to start a new project with a lead singer. Keeping Larry Smith on bass from "the Billy Connally Project" he called up Andrew Saman the former front man from the band Painted. Andrew called up A.J. Curtis former drummer from (annex, starch, stagnant) to come check the potential project out.

Billy had given them a cd of some of the music he had been working on and the chemistry between the guys was evident from the first jam. After about three rehearsals AJ asked Billy what he was thinking to which he replied "I think you guys should pay me studio rent and let's come up with a band name!" Shortly after Andrew came up with the name while Larry was playing a sound from his floor synth, describing it as "pushing the sun across the sky."

Pushing the Sun recently recorded three songs with producer Tim Narducci at Sonic Room Studios in Livermore CA and mastering was done by Tom Size. The band is busy writing more material for a future full length while playing live shows and building up a loyal fan base here in the San Francisco Bay Area and surrounding NorCal cities.
