Kindred Spirits is an acoustic roots band founded in Humboldt County’s community of Fieldbrook in 2008 by Sunny and former mandolin player, Turtle. Playing a large repertoire of both traditional and original tunes, Kindred Spirits takes from the bluegrass, folk, and blues traditions. Poignant vocals and stretched out instrumentals characterize Kindred Spirits sound, which traverses the landscapes crossed by the likes of Bill Monroe, Johnny Cash and the Grateful Dead, with occasional reggae rhythms.
