In 1985 in New York City, there wasn't a Jam Band scene. If there were, it would have been the Electric Jellyfish, dreamspeak and maybe the Melted Americans. Of course, the great Kenny Gwyn was playing amazing psychedelic Rock n Roll in the city then too. However, having started his career in the 60's and playing explicitly classic covers, he is in a different category than the other three bands.
