tHe wHiPj@cKs The term "whipjack" comes from an old English classification of rogues. A whipjack is a beggar who feigns the appearance of a shipwrecked sailor in order to invoke sympathy and generosity, or perhaps win a ride aboard a vessel headed to some distant port. We felt like this name was appropriate since we, as a band, are on a never-ending musical pilgrimage to some unknown distant port, and we wear the clothes of different musical styles to guide us on our journey. Currently, we are working diligently on original material, which contains (but is not limited to) elements of rock, jazz, folk, blues, reggae, and funk.
