A quote from a local Arcata newspaper explains, "Rather than "just a bunch of students," as drummer Sam Kaplan-Good puts it, Blue Street Junction is comprised of five gifted musicians."

Formed in 2009, Blue Street Junction has been playing a lot of shows locally at places such as The Jambalaya, Humboldt Brews, Six Rivers Brewery, Blue Lake Casino, Mosgos, Muddy's Hot Cup, and numerous plays on campus at Humboldt State University. Andrew Harris and Joe Antrim share the lead guitar duties, Ari Davie provides the bass lines, Sam Kaplan-Good holds down the beat on the drums, and Amy Day provides the vocals. The band's performances are always high energy and the band and the crowd feed off of each other.
