Dr. Slothclaw
Dr. Slothclaw Formed in the fall of 2006 in Southern York County, Pennsylvania; Dr. Slothclaw is a young, energetic Funk/Jam Band that crosses all the lines and breaks boundaries. After their first two years of writing, jamming and perfecting their unique sound, Dr. Slothclaw has released wave upon wave of "groove enlightenment" in South Central PA, Baltimore, MD, and into WV. With each new venue/show they seem to capture the hearts and minds of fans and promoters alike with their high energy jams, humorous lyrics, unique stage personality and a mix of many styles of music into their "funk". Featuring a percussionist with plenty of random noise makers, an outrageously bluesy lead guitar player, a super funky bassist, solid drumming and a rhythm guitar/synth/lead vocalist with energy through the roof, this five piece takes shows and the people watching to new heights. Utilizing their three singers, they flow with extreme lows, mesmerizing mids, and piercing highs to create melodies you can't help but dance to. Influenced by the likes of Frank Zappa, King Crimson, Parliament Funkadelic, Pink Floyd and The Grateful Dead (just to name a few), they blend everything from jazz and bluegrass, to rock and noise, all the way down to funk and dance with an attitude that cannot be matched. With over 30 original songs and an ever growing repertoire; Dr. Slothclaw pushes themselves to mix their material with plenty of improvisation, and new ways of playing old songs, giving the audience a fresh show every time they perform.
