Mo' Blues formed in Santa Fe, Argentina in 1999. The Band is comprised of bassist and vocalist Sebastian Casis, guitarist and vocalist Frederico Teiler, piano and accordion player Gabriel De Pedro and drummer Ruben Tissenbaum. A wonderful mix of English and Spanish lyrics gives them pride in their distinctive sounds as an exciting South American Blues Band. They pull in an audience while "teaching" some songs to the listeners in Spanish. This high energy band with the right amount of soft touches combines a mesh of culture resulting in the Mo'Blues unmistakable sound. This sound combines their own local music with the best from American Blues.
One year later, they were playing the Bluestock Festival in Memphis with the likes of Rufus Thomas, Buddy Guy and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band. On that same trip, the band cut its first record "Rush Hour" at Ardent Studios in Memphis.
"We play as we feel" says Sebastian Casis. "We grew up listening to the great Blues Masters, but we didn't know about the special nuances and little stuff that we do differently in our style until we came to the US. People here say we sound different because we incorporate some things from our culture into the Blues".
In 2008 Mo' Blues became the first Latin-American band to compete in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. They made it to the semi final. Additionally they were selected by the club owners as one of the best bands performing on Beal Street and entered into the 2008 Kings of Beal Street competition.
Mo' Blues is delighted to have been selected to compete in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in January 2010.

One of the best blues/rock bands in the world. They came and smoked Memphis. Arnie Goodman – Elmore Magazine, NYC
"Double Good. This band is good enough to make everyone stop talking with each other and listen. I am a club owner of Marty's Bar in Birmingham, Alabama and when the band makes people shut up and listen its real good. That's power!" - Marty Eagle
All the way from Santa Fe, Argentina...Their form of the blues may speak with a different language, but what the mind can't translate the soul certainly can. Four great players very committed to their music. - Jody Stephens, Ardent Studios
"... If you can't understand the lyrics, you are only left with the music, and I am bound to say that is well nigh faultless..."
"... everything that they do is played with supreme style and taste, as well as energy..." - Dave Stone, Blues Matters! Magazine (England)
"Mo' Blues is living proof that blues is a universal language. Listening to the band, it didn't matter that I didn't understand the lyrics in Spanish, but it felt through and through like the blues. I'm not sure how to define the blues to other people, but I know it when I hear it and feel it and it came through loud and clear with Mo' Blues. These guys are going to make a mark out there." - Michael Kinsman, President, Blues Lovers United of San Diego.
"Whether in Spanish or English, Mo' Blues brings you exciting Blues! I had not experienced much blues from other countries until 1999 when they sent me a CD and asked about gigs in the US. I was blown away by their Argentina style of BLUES. They are energetic, empowering and sometimes soulful. They are well honed and accomplished musicians who are dedicated to their music and the history of the BLUES. Please try them on for size... I am sure they will fit well into your listening ears!" - Lee Mitchell / Treasurer Magic City Blues Society, Birmingham, Alabama
"I have been following Mo' Blues whenever they are in the US since 2000 when they played for the Magic City Blues Society. The guys are truly talented and a real crowd pleaser. At the IBC's this year (2008) I made all 3 performances and at each it finished to standing ovations. Their music is original, unique, real and they truly enjoy playing for you. If you get a chance to see them please don't miss the cross cultural experience of the BLUES" - Tony Costa, Birmingham, Alabama
"That music is a universal language might be proven by how fluently people communicate with it, none more persuasively than four visitors from Argentina..." - Mixed Media Blog, Birmingham Weekly
"While playing in Memphis at the IBC, these South Americans showed Memphis how to play a great brand of blues-rock—much in the style of Ten Years After". - www.bluestormmusic.com
