Dark Hollow
Dark Hollow Dark Hollow(DH) was born in Syracuse, NY in 1996 out of the remnants of Grateful Dead Tribute act Homel-Alaniz, when bassist David "Ese" Alaniz joined the ranks of Dark Hollow and lead guitarist Mike Vincitore. Alaniz had just finished some collaborative efforts with New Riders of the Purple Sage alumni and friend of the late Jerry Garcia, David Nelson, when asked to join DH. Since then, Alaniz and Vincitore have shared the stage with members of the Grateful Dead. The rest of the band is comprised of Matt Sandford on rhythm guitar/vocals, Jeff Roney on drums/percussion, and Rochester native Jason "Smiley" Engleson.
