Trout and Parrot Trout and Parrot is Alex Stephens and Jillian Secor. Specializing in both original music and classic murder ballads, this up-and-coming duo combines raw energy and beautiful melodies that push folk music to the edge. Coming from very different musical backgrounds, these two artists are combining to create a truly original sound. While Jillian was developing her stunning voice by singing hymns as a youngster, Alex was leading an aggressive punk band. It was there he began experimenting with quickly improvised melodies that create a unique approach to acoustic folk music and tastefully complement Jillian's distinct vocals. The masterful songwriting exhibited on their first album "Headin' West" is a cause to pay close attention to the duo and place high expectations for their next release.
