Powder Mill was born out of necessity.

Jesse Charles Hammock II (Shady Deal, Jim Dickinson) had been on the road some five years with his band Shady Deal, when he got the itch to leave Mississippi and go home to Missouri to record a solo album. He went to Trumble Hills Studio, nestled in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains, and asked Jeff Chapman to play on his record as well as produce and engineer the recording process.
