Joe Deninzon Stratospheerius Lead by reonwned electric violinist/vocalist/mandolinist Joe Deninzon, Stratospheerius has showcased their "psychojazz trip funk" at colleges, festivals, and clubs throughout the US. Often referred to as the “Jimi Hendrix of the violin", Joe has worked with artists ranging from Ritchie Blackmore from Deep Purple, Sheryl Crow, Everclear, and Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The New York-based group has been heavily involved in the jam band scene, sharing stages with artists like Mike Stern, Tim Reynolds, The Slip, and John Scofield. Their live performances blend rock, jazz, funk, and elements of Latin and Middle Eastern Music, and feature songs that will make you dance and extended jams that defy gravity. The group was a winner in the John Lennon Songwriting Competition, won the People’s Choice Awards in the Cornucopia Festival, and was named “Best Jam Band” in Musician’s Atlas Independent Music Awards. They have been featured in Relix, Downbeat, Jazziz, among other publications. After receiving heavy airplay and critical acclaim all over the US, Canada, Australia, South America, Japan, and Europe with their “Live Wires” CD, they have just completed their fourth release, “Headspace”, available at www.stratospheerius.com, and www.myspace.com/stratospheerius.

"Fleshing out the Stratospheerius sound are: Out-of-this-world strings, sultry guitar, rumbling basslines, frantic drumming, and celebratory vocals that enunciate lyrical outlines of life. The songs are gripping and energetic. Insistent melodies are made compelling by the violin passion. Fevered solos are cradled between lyrical passages that tremble with breakout rock stamina. A Bayou flavor lurks in several tracks, creating a strange fusion of bluesy funk and progressive tendencies. The result is goodtime music that will get you dancing."
