Dan Reed
Dan Reed Dan Reed grew up as only child on 2,000 acres of land in South Dakota, which gave Dan plenty of time to daydream. It was here, riding tractor in the summer sun that Dan first fantasized about becoming a musician while listening rock blaring on the tractor cab's AM radio. Throughout high school, Dan played trumpet in the school band, while studying karate, and participating in every sport he could get his hands and feet into. But it wasn't until he learned to play guitar that Dan realized that this was what he was searching for… the world of writing songs.

Dan's band, The Dan Reed Network, signed with PolyGram Records in 1987. The Dan Reed Network released three critically and commercially successful albums between 1988 and 1992. The band opened for Run DMC, UB40, David Bowie, and Bon Jovi, and became the supporting act for the Rolling Stones' 1991 European tour. During this time, Dan traveled to India with Bob Guccione Jr. to interview the Dalai Lama for Spin Magazine. This trip made Dan hunger for more than his current music scene had to offer.

Dan left his band and started an independent record company. He also began scriptwriting and acting. Dan penned and starred in the independent film, Zigzag. The film reached the Top 20 in Billboard's home video rental category. In 1999, Dan became a partner in the Portland nightclub, Key Largo, promoting live and electronic music. After life-changing events in 2004, Dan left the nightclub scene and eventually found his way back to India where he sought out the Tibetan monks, feeling a need to connect with their philosophy and lifestyle. After befriending two monks, Dan was invited to live in a monastery guesthouse and attend the daily prayer meetings and rituals. From India, Dan traveled the Middle East, and his experience there influenced his decision to relocate his recording studio and his life from Portland to Jerusalem in 2006. In Jerusalem, Dan found the renewed spirit to channel his energies to his first love—music.

Dan collaborated with music producer Max Wasa, an old friend, on his debut solo album Coming Up for Air. Coming Up For Air presents a group of songs that mirror Dan's life journey and the search for that elusive deeper resonance we all hunger for at some point in our lives. Dan currently lives in Paris, where he has created the label Zero One. Dan came full circle to do what he has always done best—create and to perform to all who will listen.
