What happens when two of the Northwest's dopest musician/producers collaborate? The answer is simple: Bodies bouncing on the dance floor! The Bounce brigade is Freak Funk and Danger Russ. Freak Funk brings the Crunk/Funk whomp mixed live with Danger Russ and his live melodic/harmonic journey to create a new style of booty shaken beats. The Bounce Brigade sound is electronic with the organic to create a very live sound which is both danceable as it is experimental! Any event that has this Duo on the line up is sure to be an hyphy mind-bending experience Lafa Taylor's Electronic alias (Freak Funk) and Russ Liquid's electronic alias (Danger Russ)make up this dynamic duo.Together they play a mix of original and remixed tracks combined with on the spot looping of banging drums (Lafa) and thick synth bass (Russ). Lafa will also occasionally lace a track with his signature party hyping rhyme style to create a very unique live PA experience. Think Tipper meets Blackalicious meets Herbie Hancock.! Lafa Taylor has put out three albulms making himself a name in the northwest as one of the most promsing lyrical artists. Last year he toured as Lafa Taylor and his Dubhop Quartet , bringing his positive lyrics and dubby sound to the festival circuit and west coast. The two years before he toured with the prestigious DEF TECH in Japan as well as the more underground "japanese rap" group EDO. You may have also seen him as Dj Freak Funk, bringing you the hottest underground womp bass to the dance floor... DangerRuss is rooted in Jazz and is a mulit - instrumentalist- snyth bass, flute, sax, keys and the trumpet. His background brings an underground and immaculate spice to the duo. Russ travels and plays with the Imfamous March Fourth and he toured with Lafa and his quartert last summer. You may also find him on a collaboration with Subswara.
Both are based out of Portland... and very up and coming..
